Celebrated since 1999, by resolution of the UN General Assembly during the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth, in Lisbon, Portugal, International Youth Day, celebrated on August 12th, represents, among other facts, the adoption of the World Youth Action Program for the 2000s. With regard to the national scenario, an attempt was made to form an agenda based on the National Youth Policy.
In this way, the Youth Statute and the National Youth System were signed, based on the Youth Statute, which aims to guarantee the inalienable rights of young people aged 15 to 29, guaranteed by Law No. 12,852 of 2013. In this scenario, organized by the Department Council for Human Rights and Citizenship (SMDHC), through the Coordination of Policies for Youth (CPJ) and with the support of other Departments and possible partners, the Youth Week was created with the aim of celebrating the date. In 2022, the 4th Edition, which took place from 08/09 to 08/13, sought to expand its programming by carrying out activities such as conversation circles, workshops with our partners, activities and cultural shows.
