Unification and definition of minimum standards for Public Wi-Fi initiatives

(V.D.02) New Technologies

The “Unification and Definition of Minimum Standards for Public Wi-Fi Initiatives” initiative is an action that aims to establish quality parameters for the Wi-Fi service public offered by the city of São Paulo. The main objective is to eliminate discrepancies between the services provided by different departments, ensuring a standard consistent across the city. One of the goals of the initiative is to make public Wi-Fi access unified. This means that citizens will be able to connect easily in all places that have the public Wi-Fi signal, without the need to perform separate logins or registrations to each network. This will provide familiarity and convenience to citizens, simplifying the connection process. In addition, the initiative seeks to centralize the monitoring and activation of responsibility in case of unavailability of public Wi-Fi service.

With this centralization, there will be a single point of control to follow up and guarantee the good operation of all public networks. In this way, any interruption or problem can be quickly identified and corrected by those responsible and competent. In short, the Unification and Definition of Minimum Standards for Public Wi-Fi seeks to establish a base of quality and standardization for the service of Public Wi-Fi in the city of São Paulo. With the implementation of these guidelines, it is expected to provide a consistent, easy, and reliable experience for citizens who want to use public Wi-Fi, in addition to facilitating the management and monitoring of the service by responsible authorities.
