Created by the City of São Paulo at the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Cidade Solidária aims to distribute basic food baskets to the vulnerable population through registered Social Organizations. As of 2023, the Program becomes a permanent public policy, established by Municipal Law 17,819/2022 and delivers, daily, around 7,000 basic food baskets. From 2020 until mid-May 2023, Cidade Solidária served the population with approximately 7.6 million food baskets.
