Bolsa Família Program

(V.D.10) Vulnerable Families

The Bolsa Família Program (PBF) is a direct income transfer program with conditionalities, which aims to improve the lives of families in poverty and extreme poverty in Brazil.

Families that participate in the PBF receive directly, every month, financial resources from the Federal Government. When participating in Bolsa Família, they must fulfill commitments in the areas of health and education. These counterparts are also a way of supporting the population served, as they guarantee the exercise of their social rights.
