Integrated early childhood care protocols are intersectoral strategies that aim to provide comprehensive care for early childhood. They are provided for in the municipal plan for early childhood 2018-2030* and in the 2021-2024 goal program in its goal 11 – implement integrated early childhood care protocols. They are instituted to strengthen the integrated protection network for children in the first years of life, their families or caregivers and pregnant women, through coordinated action between the various public administration agencies that serve these publics.

The 4 integrated protocols are intersectoral strategies that aim to promote integration between municipal services. Under development and implementation since 2021, through different instruments such as guides, manuals, integrated service flows, dissemination actions, communication and broad training for professionals in the municipal network, including courses.

Evaluation of the Good Practice

An example of this good practice was observed through the implementation of a pilot trial of the integrated protocol for active school search in Cidade Tiradentes (district of São paulo), in which professionals from education, health and social assistance reported improved coordination and the return of children to school through the application of the flow
