Aim of the Good Practice

The creation of affordable housing in Carinthia is achieved by granting housing assistance; the housing assistance in Carinthia is calculated from the difference between chargeable and reasonable housing expenses. The chargeable housing expense is based on the amount of the rent of the flat subject to the application - the reasonable housing expense is based on the amount of the applicant's income. Housing assistance is granted for a maximum period of 1 year; after that, a new application is necessary.
