Friuli Venezia Giulia on the Move. “10 thousand steps”

(V.D.04) Healthcare, (V.D.09) Leisure and Tourism

The “FVG in Movimento 10 mila passi di salute project”, created by the Region’s Central Directorate for Health with the collaboration of the Federsanità ANCI FVG, the University of Udine, Department of Economic and Statistical Sciences, and the support of PromoTurismo FVG, is part of a broader program which aims to promote health and, specifically, physical activity and exercise among the population. To actively involve all municipalities to promote health in their community.

A network of 70 municipalities of the Regione FVG, has created 59 paths to facilitate movement and simple walks, this allows a paradigm shift by stimulating and inviting people to change their lifestyle habits. Encouraging walking and/or cycling also impacts and contributes to many of the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Presentation and promotion of the routes, by Federsanità ANCI FVG, DC Salute, DIES UNIUD, and PromoTurismo, together with local administrators and representatives of the Associations; with every presentation of new routes, communication, and promotion initiatives were carried out on the internet websites, and social and mass media of the Municipalities and project partners (e.g. press releases, interviews, etc.).
Every route is safe and accessible, free for all people also with reduced mobility for inclusiveness and equity.

Design and activation of “Theory-practice courses for Walking Group Coordinators – Walking Leader”, under the scientific coordination of the Degree Course in Motor Sciences of the University of Udine, Routes and Walking group are promoted on the regional website and FB page dedicated to the project, and to all health personnel during the meeting.
Promoturismo FVG, the partner of this project, has enhanced the naturalistic, historical, and architectural beauties of the municipalities routes in Italy and in Croazia in a tourism project named “Take it slow”.
