The program has 2 modes (hot and cold mode). The cold mode corresponds to a portion of dairy products, nuts, and cereals. The hot mode corresponds to a breakfast served with the 3 food groups. It serves 1000 beneficiaries in 44 public schools on the island. The beneficiaries are preschool and school-age children previously selected based on a socioeconomic evaluation.

Aim of the Good Practice

Contribute to the healthy nutrition of children in public schools selected by a socioeconomic evaluation.

Target Group of the Good Practice

Children between the ages of 3 to 12 years old, who study in a public school on the Island, are in a vulnerable situation.

The program is a continuous annual program according to the school calendar of the Ministry of Public Education.

Evaluation of the Good Practice

The beneficiaries are preschool and school-age children previously selected based on a socioeconomic evaluation. It depends on the number of children enrolled in the program, with the aim of Reducing food poverty, reducing overweight and obesity rates.
