At the beginning of the administration, the challenge of identifying families in a vulnerable situation and living in overcrowding was established. Operations were carried out in the most vulnerable neighborhoods and in rural towns to be able to identify them through a questionnaire and verification at home. to the possible beneficiaries, resulting in a positive action because 205 families have been supported so far in the two years of its implementation, thereby promoting the increase in family harmony, inhibiting acts of domestic violence of the members. In 2021, it benefited from the construction of an additional room to 1 home. By 2022, 160 families will benefit, and in 2023, 64 additional rooms will be built.

Consistency over time
Since 2021, when this project began as part of the Housing Improvement Program, it was seen as an alternative to help and find a solution for Colima families, with 1 bedroom being built this year; In 2022 there were 160 bedrooms; In 2023, 64 bedrooms were built, overall, in two years of government the life quality of 225 families has been improved with an additional bedroom; This project is still underway for this year 2024.
Evaluation of the Good Practice
Derived from official poverty measurement reports, in the municipality of Colima in 2020 there were 1,081 families that were in overcrowded conditions; With the intervention in 225 homes that have overcome overcrowding, representing a 20.81% reduction, these actions are demonstrating the commitment to improve the conditions of families in vulnerable situations and to promote the reduction of domestic violence and especially against girls and women.
Key stakeholders and partnerships
The financing for the actions and works has been mainly with the municipality's own resources, in addition to the contribution of federal contribution funds and with the Banorte and Corazón Urbano A.C. Foundation; in addition to having the participation of the Neighborhood Committees and the Social Participation Committees.
