The Centre for Quality Development in Child Protection in Carinthia aims to ensure that comprehensive child protection knowledge is included in the training and further education of the many professional groups (e.g. primary school teachers, school teachers, doctors, police officers, psychosocial professionals) who deal with children, adolescents and families in the best possible way. The responsibility for child protection must be clearly perceived in all professions, facilities, and institutions. For this purpose, there is an intensive exchange in partnership with all those involved – in the sense of a coordinated alliance for child protection.
An important concern is to create optimal framework conditions for child protection in Carinthia.
The aim is to ensure that help and support for families in challenging situations is accepted at an early stage so that violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect in its worst forms can be averted as comprehensively as possible. The Unit follows a tripolar understanding of child protection based on Reinhart Wolff and attaches particular importance to a balanced further development strategy on the three levels: community-oriented child protection, family-supporting child protection, and risk-oriented child protection.
