Package of Measures “Professional Child Protection in Carinthian Medicine”

(V.D.04) Healthcare, (V.D.05) Safety

Based on the information brochure “Professional Child Protection in Carinthia’s Medical System”, which was developed as a guideline for action, annual training events on topics relevant to child protection are now held. It is important that representatives of the medical system and social work take part in these events.

After a thematic focus on “Child protection in obstetrics” (2021) and further training for Carinthian school physicians (2022), there will be another intensive further training for the target group of midwives in 2023, as well as networking talks with the relevant departments of the two largest hospitals in Carinthia. In addition, further training events are planned for the entire hospitals in the district centers. Furthermore, the information materials prepared (see also https://kinderschutz.ktn.gv.at), including the completed “dialogue pictures” on physical violence and neglect, are to be successively communicated to the relevant groups of specialists and hospitals.
