Aim of the Good Practice
It is an emblematic example of our commitment to providing quality internet access via Wi-Fi signal free of charge, for all citizens, promoting the digital and social inclusion of the population of the Federal District. This program has allowed areas of social vulnerability to have free access to the internet, enabling educational, employment and connection opportunities with the digital world.
Target Group of the Good Practice
Citizens of the Federal District, in locations considered to be areas of social vulnerability in the Federal District.
Implementation period
Launched in February 2019, currently in effect.
Consistency over time
The Wi-Fi Social DF project is now available in 55 locations, distributed across 22 Administrative Regions of the Federal District, in addition to the reach that has already covered millions of accesses since its initial implementation.
Evaluation of the Good Practice
Positive, since many families do not have access to the internet and need access to information that is available online.
